April 27th – Dudley Cafe, 6:00 pm. Poetry
Blue Rose and Stone Soup Poetry join together for National Poetry Month to bring you the Amazing WoMen Poetry Showcase. We return to the Dudley Cafe from 6:00 to 9:00 PM for another Saturday night of open mic poetry and featured performances. Poets are invited to present and perform work related to the night’s theme: “You don’t know me … but you are me.” Join in with our showcase of artists sharing stories of trauma and healing.

April 27th – Curated Curl connecting multicultural women who are embracing their natural hair textures – SOulFully Textured™, A Natural Hair Experience from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at District Hall in the heart of Boston’s Innovation District, the Seaport. April 29th BOSTON ATHENAEUM Public Talks
Emily Bazelon and Boston-based former Prosecutor Adam Foss for their joint event entitled, “Charged: The New Movement to Transform American Prosecution and End Mass Incarceration.”

May 1st – Preservation Month Kickoff reception and activities with Boston Landmarks Preservation Day at the New England Historic Genealogical Society 99 Newbury Street Boston, MA 02116 from 6-7:00 p.m.

May 2nd – May 5th – Alvin Ailey Dancer visits community groups and will attract more than 900 church-, school- and neighborhood-affiliated citizens from Dorchester, Roxbury, the South End, Charlestown, Mattapan, Roslindale and Jamaica Plain to performances..

He worked at the Parker House as a busser. The Parker House honors Malcolm’s civil rights legacy with a framed photo. Placed around it are photos of the Black workers Malcolm worked with there. Near the Malcolm X display is a photo of President John F. Kennedy proposing to his future wife while dining at Omni Parker House, 60 School St, Boston, MA 02108.
