37tnh annual Malcolm X Awards Breakfast program in Roxbury

Kudos to Boston African American Heritage and Black tour guides for including the official and historic Malcolm X Roxbury home in their material. Tourists and local groups have been going to see it for years.

A young Malcolm Little lived in it with his sister. Back in the day, he was 16 years old and worked for a restaurant downtown at the Parker House Hotel.

The 37th Annual Malcolm X Memorial and Awards Breakfast was held May 18, 2024 at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.

We made history in Nebraska today! Omaha native, Malcolm X, was the first Black person inducted into the Nebraska Hall of Fame. El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz

What an honor for his highly esteemed daughter Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz to represent the family during the induction ceremony, just a few days after her father would have turned 99 years old.

Thank you JoAnna LeFlore-Ejike and Malcolm X Memorial Foundation and all others actively involved for your hard work making this happen after many years of persistence!

Special thanks to Nathan Murray for sculpting the captivating bust of Malcolm X which will commemorate this day and forever memorialize Brother Malcolm’s legacy at the Nebraska State Capitol.

This is our history…a legend born right here in Omaha, NE. Don’t ever let anyone tell you your life is not a miracle or that your legacy is not one of greatness.

You stand on the shoulders of ancestors who have shown you differently!
